Poulou & Palou 14 May 2009 7:10PM Hello everybody!

As a gay couple, we travel a lot.  We are from Belgium and although it is allowed in our country, we are not yet married.  But we do have lots of children (6 in all!).  Whether travelling with them, or all by ourselves, we enjoy holding hands. Not to shock, not to exhibe ourselves, but just because we love each other.
Depending of where we are, we do adapt our attitudes, to respect the cultures of the hosting country, this is not because we are a same-gender couple, but because some cultures tends to be less 'openly affectionate'.
This was true in Japan, where we barely touched.  In Florida, however, we did not only held hands but kissed also.
The picture we post today was taken a few weeks ago, during the Spring Festival in Budapest (Hungary), on a place called (if I remember well) Vörösmarty Tèr Vä.  Sunny day - if very cold - and crowded, due to the Festival.
Where ever we go, we never encounter hate.  Surprise, maybe, but never hate.
And if people laught at our back, we don't care, as we don't see them.

Often, we wonder what use there is to claim the same rights as hetero (couples), if, in the same time, we all keep hidding.
Why claim loud and colorfully during worldwide Gayprides the right to exist with our 'differences' if the next day we shy into our closets?

Let's exist!  Let's love!
The world can only be better if our part of it finally stops suffer in hidding.
