This is a picture of my girlfriend Ruth and I holding hands in Crystal Palace Park, London on the 29th March 2009. My brother took the photo. We met in Bristol where I am currently studying and have been together for three months. We are always walking around holding hands in Bristol and have never experienced any negative reactions (apart from the occasional stare) doing so. I believe same-sex hand holding (sshh) is important as it's a normal, appropriate expression of affection in a public place, and the more visible it is, the less fear we need to have, and more same sex couples will fee able to do it.
I love looking at the photos on the Day In Hand group, especially as I grew up in London, so it's nice to see same- sex couples (and friends who support the cause) holding hands in front of all the familiar landmarks. Keep up the good work :)
