"[It was] International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHO) and to show
our support we [held] a special event, in partnership with South Essex
Homes, on the First Floor Foyer of the Civic Centre between 12:15pm –
2:00pm. The event included information on issues such as health and hate
crime reporting and representatives from the Citizens Advice Bureau,
Victim Support and a range of other organisations attended to provide
information and advice.The event was open to all staff and members of
the public. Staff were also invited to take part in ‘A Day in Hand’
photo, which aims to inspire and support same-sex couples who want to
hold their partners’ hand in public. This took place outside the Civic
Centre at 12:00pm."
