We love it!26 Dec 2009 12:22AM"Please find attached our picture to support your fantastic campaign. When I took my wife to work, we both paused and held hands as crowds of people walked by us in the car and I snapped the photo.
We hope a lot of people get on board and support this campaign, which we feel really strongly about.
Best wishes!"

the Village, although we do sometimes get some odd looks and the
occasional insulting comment (and the occasional smile, too). I have
not yet had occasion to hold hands outside Montreal."

Daniel Forgie the photographer said,
"I'm glad you could use the pic. I've seen several more couples around here....I don't have any details about the guys in the pic I sent you. I just stopped them and asked if I could take their picture and asked their permission for its use in any type of project that it might end up in. They agreed, said it sounded great, and were on their way.
The constant hassle and danger surrounding same-sex hand holding and affection has long been a main point of contention regarding our inequality. I think that visibility of diverse couples (not just in major cities and ghettos) is one of the few ways that we will ever be able to truly have equality. I live downtown Vancouver, arguably one of the most gay-positive cities, in one of the few and first countries to legalise same-sex marriages and it is still really unsafe to hold hands. There have been numerous attacks just in the last year, even in the "village". Often I think I'd rather give up the right to marry if it meant that I could just hold my partner's hand or give him a kiss, without worrying about being attacked."
Staci16 May 2009 9:12PM"Don't have any pics, unfortunately, but my best friend and I regularly hold hands, hug, and use terms of endearment to one another. We're both straight, but do love each other and have absolutely no qualms about expressing that. A short time ago I stopped in the grocery store quickly one night without her, and the cashier asked me where my wife was. I LOVE that we live in an area where, not only was the assumption natural that two affectionate women were a couple, but it actually seemed easiest not to correct the misinterpretation." Staci

Matt08 May 2009 8:33PMNo picture, sorry -- we were too busy holding hands.
When I'm with someone, I always hold hands. Most recently this boy I like was visiting from Winnipeg, and we went everywhere holding hands -- the metro, the botanical gardens, the Marché Centrale way up in Villeray, and around my neighbourhood.
On his last day here we flew kites at the park down the street and had a banana split afterwards, all the while holding hands. We were so wholesome-looking we could have come right out of a PFLAG brochure. :)

Love in the air11 Jul 2008 5:27PMThis shot was taken... in the
midway, the fairgrounds, where all the rides are. These two pals were
approximately 80-100 feet / 30m in the air. I caught them accidentally
in my telephoto lens. It's one of my favourite pictures.
I personally don't have an opinion about anyone holding hands. If
people want to hold hands, then they should. I know that our culture is
more closed in this regard than others. For instance, though I've never
been there, I'm told that in Spain it's common for guys to touch or
whatever when they're hanging out (though I'm not sure about that).
Cheers.
