DC in the Spring

My name is Audrey Smith. This photo was taken in Washington DC in the spring of 2009. My partner, Colby Woodring, and I held hands most of the day as we toured various monuments, museums and walked through the cherry blossoms.
A few months after this photo was taken, we had a commitment ceremony (because same sex marriage is not legal in Pennsylvania) in our front yard. :) We try to hold hands in public often despite living in a town which is split down the middle between very conservative right wingers and progressive left wingers.
Colby and I just formed group together with some friends that is going to participate in the handholding event next Saturday and we will submit photos!
