My partner Pat (on the right) and I have been together for almost 22 years now. We live in an area that is quite hostile towards LGBT people (Colorado Springs) but we still like to hold hands in spite the threatening behavior we've experienced. On out 21st anniversary we traveled to Iowa and got "legally married" with all our friends and family there to help us celebrate. We had a great time - the only sad thing is the marriage application made it clear we would only be "legal" in Iowa. I'm very excited, though, because Pat (who is a British citizen) and I will be moving to England in a few months and (in contrast to the country that gets all my tax dollars) we will be a legal couple wherever we go!!
We will continue to hold hands and share our love - and hopefully encourage others to do so as well!
