A Day In Hand Founder in Times Ed
22 Sep 2010
David Watkins, founder of A Day In Hand talks about his experiences of homophobia as a newly qualified teacher in a London special needs school. David ended up taking his employer to a tribunal and was successful becoming one of the first successful cases under the Sexual Orientation Regs 2003 (SO 2003) that didn't have a non-disclosure order. Something that he had fought hard for from the start. These gagging orders tied to successful SO 2003 cases in the past have rendered them invisible as if the discrimination had never happened. Read about the story here. David was interviewed by a Times Educational writer who later put his words into the 1st person.
