BBC Radio solent take up Elvis Presley's and A Day In Hand's challenge, "Walk A Mile In My Shoes." They send 2 straight male DJ's out onto the streets of Southampton to hold hands. How did they get on?
They related it as a massively positive experience. And the public? Absolutely positive about the sight of 2 guys holding hands in the streets. No problem at all. The presenters later commented to me how great they felt afterward, and also realised how difficult it must be for same-sex couples. They weren't used to people looking at them when they held hands with their girlfriends.
