Cashman in Hand 12 Jul 2009 12:04 Micheal Cashman and his partner Paul Cottingham took a step outside of the Gay and Lesbian Humanist Association (GALHA) 30th Anniversary to hold hands in Liverpool Street, London. It was a busy and crowded evening outside, and the mainly straight, bar-hopping, after work, business crowd had absolutely no problem with the sight of two men holding hands. If anyone was staring, it was probably because it was MICHEAL CASHMAN and not that he was holding hands with (shock horror) another man. Michael is a Minister of the European Parliament (MEP) and has had a distinguished carer in fighting for human rights. He began his work at the forefront of equality when as an actor in popular UK soap opera 'Eastenders' in 1987, he became one half of the first gay ever kiss on a UK televison (a kiss on the forehead).
