Gays & Lesbians surge in opinion polls 08 Jun 2010 "For the first time, more [American] men than women perceive gay couples as morally acceptable", or so reports the New York Times. Interestingly the article describes one reason for this as a result of a possible 'Contact Hypothesis'. "As more men openly acknowledge that they are gay, it becomes harder for men who are not gay to discriminate against them." We have always been about visibility, as too are our sister projects LGBT History Month (LGBT visibility in history) and Schools Out (LGBT visibility in education). Harvey Milk also realised that people are less likely to be homophobic if they know someone who is lesbian or gay. Watch this space folks, for an imminent sub-campaign from A Day In Hand that will widen the net of our supporters. And so, back to the article in question, from the New York Times.
Thanks to Tami Twarog for spotting this.
