Get Involved 22 Apr 2009 A Day in Hand supports people to publicly hold hands across the globe.
The project heralds a revolutionary way of making the world a fairer place: a revolution in which anybody, on any day, can be a part of.

Same-sex love is here to stay. Let's mark the occasion and tell the world.
How to take the day in hand in 3 steps:

1) Find someone of the same sex that you love, respect, or admire.
2) Put your hand in their hand.
3) Step outside

Urs and Mario: 2 straight blokes who
know that gay rights are human rights

A Day In Hand
is an inclusive campaign.

Straight people could be at the forefront in fighting for queer rights.
Straight people can support us by holding hands with someone of
their same gender and uploading the pic (see left).
Do you have to be black, to object to racism?
Do you have to be female, to object to sexism?
LGBT rights are human rights. We live and breathe in all communities.
Take Elvis Presley's A Day In Hand  Challenge.

A Day In Hand  founder David Watkins says, "Equal rights are a necessity but we need equal respect too. When push comes to shove…love.

Hand holding is a simple, liberating gesture that is essential to our communities’ health. I want the campaign to give all people good reason to hold hands everyday, and tools to fight those voices inside our heads that say we can’t do this. We can!”

We want Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans people to be a part of the cultural landscape of all outdoor spaces.

This is a silent revolution because nothing needs to be said: no war of words, no impassioned   speeches, no organised rallies. Simply hold hands.

This is not a campaign for couples only. It's for anybody who has ever believed that love has no exceptions.

Everytime you hold hands with the person you love, you give those who believe in a better world....hope.
Everytime you hold hands with the person you love, you give those who would criticise and accuse a dose of reality.
Homophobes are drops in the ocean. Everytime you hold hands, you become the ocean.

Every single time.
