Kent celebrated LGBT History Month in style with a plethora of events throughout the month of February. The closing event on 25th Feb in Maidstone was called 'Reflections'. Amongst the programme of events that evening speakers included Amanda Beer, Director of Personnel & Development, Kent County Council; Rosalind Turner, Managing Director of Children, Families & Education, KCC; Steve Griffiths, Assistant Director of Community Safety, Kent Fire & Rescue; Sue Sanders, Co-chair of Schools OUT & LGBT History Month; Jo Frazer - A Personal Perspective on Civil Partnerships; Roger Gough, Cabinet Member for Corporate Support Services & Performance Management, Kent County Council and David Watkins, Founder of ‘A Day in Hand’ campaign
Special thanks to Beth James, Youth Arts Officer and Sexuality Champion - Communities at the Kent Arts Project who expertly organised the event and the 'Hand In Hand' photography competition.

As well as a buffet provided by the venue, Oakwood House and a LGBT pub quiz, there was also the announcement of the winner and runner up of the Hand in Hand photography competition that ran during LGBT HM in Kent, in association with us here at A Day In Hand.
