Now it was mine turn to put my money where my mouth was. I decided that I wanted to try this public hand holding lark. So there at Deptford Bridge, I took James' hand, another volunteer and off we went for the penultimate leg of this fantastic event.

David says, "And as much as I talk about this amazing act of human love, friendship, bravery....still it never feels wholly comfortable, at least, a fear is always at the back of my mind. We walked past a pub, some lads drinking on the pavement. I tensed, but nothing. I did feel very exposed, and in some ways it feels like you're walking naked down the street. But then something takes over and it feels great, I think its the feeling of finding yourself."
